Perspective: Balancing Creative Projects And Life

When you're deep in the middle of a project, it can be hard finding a suitable balance between your writing and the rest of your life.

Maybe you feel like you should be devoting more time to your writing so you see more progress. But that can lead to burnout. Writing isn't life; it's a way to express life.

In all honesty, I spend a good amount of my free time on writing. But I don't make it my entire day—I spend time with family and friends, read, and do other activities. Just today, I went mini-golfing with a few longtime friends and went to the library with family.

Some days you're going to get more work done than others. That's to be expected, and there's nothing wrong with that. It just takes perspective.
