One New Way To Broaden Your Worldview

I recognize how blessed I am to live in a place where my everyday reality is what others are fighting to protect. So this week, I thought I'd take a break from my reflections on the art and business of #storytelling, and provide a metaphorical peek behind the curtain into what I do in my free time.

Last week, I interviewed to volunteer with ENGin, a non-profit that pairs Ukrainian students with an English speaker to practice their English skills. It's an amazing cause that I am blessed to be a part of.

I'm not pretending I'm a hero. But I have a pretty good grasp of English (especially being a writer), and if that is a gift I can share, then that's what I'll do to help.

Volunteering is easy. Spread out over days, I completed onboarding in a few hours. If you want to learn Ukrainian, ENGin also offers lessons for that too. It creates jobs during wartime and is definitely not your Duolingo. 🦉
